My friend f/ NY received this 😔 message today.

NY's Essential Plan was established under an optional ACA provision that allows states to create a Basic Health Program for low-income residents who don't qualify for Medicaid. The Essential Plan used ACA premium tax credits, to finance the program.

Meanwhile it's not a silly matter. It's life or death. My friend from New York received an email saying she will be kicked off the NY's Essential Plan next July.

Medicaid cuts will impact everyone!

Less patients = the inability of hospitals & clinics to sustain operations.

Doors at clinics and hospitals will not close just for Medicaid patients but for everyone.

Rural hospitals get most of their funding from Medicaid and Medicare.

The GOP shut down the government because they are choosing to let the ACA healthcare tax credits expire. They also passed their big bullshit bill to cut $1 trillion from Medicaid over the next 10 yrs. Don’t believe Mike Johnson’s blatant lies about the GOP fighting for healthcare. They are not!
