British novelist Joanna Trollope, whose portrayals of British domestic life made her one of the nation’s most widely read authors, has died at the age of 82.
Trollope published more than 30 novels during a writing career that began in 1980. Her early works, written under the pseudonym Caroline Harvey, were historical romances, but from the mid-1980s onward, she turned to contemporary fiction, a shift that would define her reputation. Continue reading...

The Pacific Palisades fire has thus far burnt 2.9k+ acres. It has burnt a lot of structures and jumped the PCH going into Malibu. It also pushed into Santa Monica. The Getty has stated that only vegetation has burned and that the galleries are double walled.

The severity of the Palisades fire can be seen in the second photo. The first is its position relative to downtown LA. Its about 12 miles (20 km) out of city center. Pacific Palisades looks like it may become engulfed completely. Hopefully, it stops between the hills and ocean before Santa Monica.
