The event featured student speakers from local high schools, as well as a speech from a Portland State University student, and other activists. Students sang along to songs like Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land."

On January 30, students at McDaniel High School in Portland walked out of class and led a march from their campus to Glenhaven Park. This was a student-led demonstration during a nationwide strike to protest ICE and the killing of two people in Minnesota by federal agents.

While the event is held at The Square, the drone show is visible in surrounding areas. These (kind of blurry) snaps were taken about 2 miles east of the event.

A drone light show over The Square in downtown Portland is helping ring in the New Year. The first show was held at 9pm, and a final one will be held around midnight.
