The Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy set keeps looking better and better. This is going to be amazing.

The Final Fantasy Magic set looks amazing! It’s coming this May and if the Cactuar is any indication, it’s going to be stuffed with flavor.

The card quote is a direct pull from FF8!

Another video I contributed to, and I will die on the hill that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is one of the best movies ever made.

Working on a little article about Speed, and writing "30 years later" made me want to crumble into dust.

Reading Civ VII reviews and takes now that it’s here, and it really sounds like Humankind had a lot of influence on the new design.

Which is good, for me, since I had a blast with Amplitude’s take on the 4x formula, but it’s free on the Epic store this week and that can not be a coincidence.

My second Platinum of the year! What an underrated gem of an RPG too. It’s very different, but as someone that loves Saga Frontier and Octopath, this was perfect for me!

Only caught the Men’s Rumble match last night, but that was a 10/10 banger with an amazing ending.

YEET/YEAH was a simple highlight, so was Joe Hendry, with the TNA Title too!!

After a busy, but productive week at work, today’s my one day to do nothing. Which means finally finishing Live a Live, one of the strangest JRPGs I’ve ever played.
February 1, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Every Sunday, while dreading the upcoming work week, I think to myself, "I should go full bore into content creation and my own website, finally."

And every Monday, I get up, and go back to working as a salesman. Rinse, wash, repeat.

I have always had some fascination with Cryptids, so I've added Acadia After Dark to my podcast rotation. It's a relaxed, lowkey show from @reverendredbeard.bsky.social perfect for anyone that misses when discussing conspiracy theories meant UFOs and Big Foot.

So TikTok is back, with a message gaslighting every single user, and I can’t. I can do it.

I try not to signal boost politics, my stance on things is very obvious, but I’ve deleted TikTok. The manipulation is so blatant, I won’t have any part in it.

Marvel Snap isn't just down for mobile as a surprise result of the U.S. TikTok ban.

U.S.-based Game File readers say they can still download the PC version, but can't play it (it uses Google/Apple logins)

For the first time in 5 years, I've let my PS Plus subscription run out.

Hoping this will give me the push to tackle the backlog in 2025!

I’ve been in the mood for light hearted anime, so fired up Ya Boy Kongming! It’s an absolute delight, and the strange mix of The Three Kingdoms with EDM works amazingly well.

That and the intro has all the characters dancing to the theme song, a trend that needs to come
back.

One benefit of Raw going to Netflix?

I missed it last night, so I fired up over tonight's dinner. No fuss, no mess, no cut-down version on Hulu.

Time to enjoy PENTA.

Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League includes a slo-mo hero walk.

I’m easy to please.
January 11, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Suicide Squad is a PS Plus game this month. Figured might as well check it out. And it’s….not bad?

The live service trappings are obnoxious but the mobility and writing makes it fun.

I’ve played worse for “free.”

Just view it as Elseworlds and not an Arkhamverse game….

I’m late to the party, but The Orville is an amazing Star Trek series. Once I finally made it through the first half of Season 1 that is.

Why do video games cost so much to make these days? A recent NYT article pinned bloated budgets on the graphical arms race, but that's only a small part of the equation. The real problem? Rampant mismanagement.

This week's column is a spicy one: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Why So Many Video Games Cost So Much to Make
Graphical fidelity is only part of the reason that game budgets have swelled to hundreds of millions of dollars
