You know when the cost of living goes up and you don't get a raise so you have to start giving things up to survive?

That's what it means when politicians vote for 0% property tax increases. It means they will just do less. It means expect less. It means we don't deserve the same, let alone more.

Invoices are chargeback safe and you can pester your debt customers sending them reminders. You can also cancel the commission if needed. Invoices protect your business (at the moment)
A real customed LOVES an invoice because they also proctect them in case the artist vanishes.

The notion, "if you REALLY liked art you'd create it regardless of circumstance" puts all the onus on the artist and ignores simple facts of human experience.

The overhead of mere existence can quash all creative outlets; pain, uncertainty, health (mental/physical)—we require care and feeding.

It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.
