This beautiful rose was sent to mum last year for her 95th birthday, sadly it was her last, but she’d had a good long life & we were lucky to have her for so long.
I don’t know its name but obviously it’s now called ‘mums rose’ & will be a lovely reminder 🧡🌿

Just think of all the goodness in this one plant of Candy-floss Kale 🥬💕Plus it’s travel miles are measured in steps 🚶‍♀️
Sown last year, eaten, cut down & here it is again, magic ✨

I have a whole hedge of Choisya ternata, common name Mexican orange, variety ‘Sundance’.
Well it was dancing in yesterday’s sunshine 🌞 against the blue sky 💙 #sundayyellow #mygarden #Yellowsunday

This is from early summer, but the anemones are coming up again. I’ve only grown them for a couple of years so didn’t realise they came up a second time,I’m sure they haven’t before. How wonderful 🌿🧡💕🧡🌿 #flowersonfriday

Our rather chubby cat-woman , is now a shadow of her former self, living an ‘even more’ sedate life as an elderly feline 😻#cats #cat #CatsOfBluesky

I had to rescue this little cutey🦎 as she was right where I was digging plants up.
It was so lucky I spotted her as newts play dead extremely convincingly.
She did eventually swim off but bluesky can’t cope with a video clip that long 🤣💦🦎💦 #WildlifeWednesday #newts #pond #wildlife

I picked pretty much the last of the tomatoes at the weekend. Always a sad feeling, but lots of tomato sauce in the freezer & we’ve enjoyed these for the last couple of days 😋🍅🌿

I took this in the beautiful sunshine on Sunday. The last few flowers on Penstemon ‘garnet’ 🌿🩷🌿🩷🌿
I meant to post it yesterday, but as it’s still Monday in Baker Island (USA) I think it can still be #MagentaMonday 😁

Mini yellow chrysanthemums 🌿🌼🌿🌼🌿🌼🌿🌼
Given to me years ago by a proper old gardener I admired, that was lucky enough to still be gardening into his 90’s 👨‍🌾

This was taken last year when a fennel plant went mad…🌼🌼🌼
The pollinators loved it & the keen eyed will spot one in flight, top right corner 🐝🐝🐝 #InsectThursday #ThrowbackThursday

Last week’s garden diary. At least I remembered about the extra hour in bed this year!

Garden Diary – A rejigged hosta bed & an extra hour in mine!
I’m so pleased with the hosta bed after having to dig most of it out in the spring - well at least the gardeners mate had to dig it for me.

I love it when I learn something new & today’s factoid (as Steve Wright would say) is…
Penstemon are known as Beardtongues 🌿🩷🌿
Many of you probably already know that, but it’s new to me 🙂

Morning sunshine peeping through my Acer leaf. 🍁☀️💙
It’s funny to think that trapped sugars produce these bright leaf colours in autumn 🍂 #autumn #trees #autumnfall

If you grow your own Basil, you’ll know it goes mad. But when you can just pop it into the liquidiser with Parmesan, Pine nuts, Olive oil, Garlic & Lemon, to make pesto. You have to ask yourself, can you have too much Basil? 🤔🌿🧀🍋🌿

I’ve been growing Erysimum ‘bowles mauve’ for years 💜
Classed as a perennial, it’s more like a tiny shrub. Evergreen & flowers all year round.
Gets too spindly after a few years, but so easy to take cuttings 🌿💜🌿💜🌿💜

The carnations are still perfuming the patio, against Calamagrostis × acutiflora 'Karl Foerster' now with its golden hue.
It lasts all winter long before I take the hedge trimmer to it in spring 🌿🌾🌸🌾🌿 #gardening #pinkflowers

I bought this begonia tuber early in the year, & I thought it was never going to grow. But boy was it worth waiting for! 🌿🤍
Yes, that is how blue our sky has been today 🌿💙🤍💙🌿
And btw I built that wall 🙂
