BlueSky has been the same user experience as Twitter. No engagement. Posts go nowhere and are seen by no one. It’s boring and useless. And it’s exactly why I was done with Twitter long before shithead took over. This app feels lonely.

You know, sometimes I think about the former Twitter board and CEO’s and their culpability in all this. Perhaps forcing the sale of the world’s largest megaphone to the world’s biggest narcissist wasn’t a good idea. But I guess they got paid so capitalism wins.

I can’t help but think that we are witnessing one of those turning points in history. Like hundreds of years from now this will be the moment when the USA changed forever. This is one of those things like the Bolsheviks Revolution that led to the formation of the USSR or the fall of the Roman Empire

You know, I’d be a lot more inclined to use BlueSky if it didn’t feel like talking to an empty room. I post something on Threads and I get thousands of reactions within hours. On here I make the identical post and it’s crickets.

Fun fact: the last time the Conservative Party of Canada won an election it was only because their leader, Stephen Harper, forced every single one of his candidates to shut the fuck up. They weren’t allowed to speak to media, attend local debates, or engage in any way. #cdnpoli

I’m old enough to remember when Stephen Harper went up against the likes of Paul Martin, Stephane Dion, and Michael Ignatief. Harper was a charisma vacuum, however in the debates he came across so fucking reasonable. 1/2

I have to wonder what USA’s response would be if Xi Jinping started publicly making comments about using “economic force” to pressure the USA into allowing China to annex their borders. Would the NYT write an op ed about what a great idea it would be? Yeah no one in Canada thinks it’s funny or cute.

It’s seems like people finally are waking up to the fact that the tech moguls aren’t good people trying to enrich society with their products. Google is not your friend. Meta is not your friend. X is not your friend. TikTok is not your friend. If the product is free then you’re the product.
