But fundamentally, tear gas is literally designed as a painful irritating distraction agent and a lot of you are focused on the tear gas/pepper spray instead of the underlying thuggery. Don’t let the tear gas do its job.

Pragmatically, we should be arguing for a mall-cop approach to ICE: sticks and spray, and nothing else. If they arrest someone they need to call a supervisor from a long way away with a single pair of handcuffs. Guns? Call the local police if guns are a problem
