A friend of mine who was trained as a data scientist, then worked at Google as a TPM, mentioned a while ago that data science is a lost profession. It's all machine learning and "AI" now, seemingly as you describe: asking the magic computer to tell them things.

It is *lunacy* for the ostensibly liberal opposition party to say we shouldn't limit any individual's wealth and power after watching a cadre of fascist billionaires systematically destroy this country. That's probably the single most important thing we *must* do!
The highest-ranking Democrat in the House went on to explain the concept as, "When you work hard and play by the rules in the United States of America, there should be no ceiling to the success that you can achieve." The idea posits that everyone should have the government's support to pursue the American Dream without limiting the success available to those already at the top.
