Haven't been on here in a while because, life be lifing. But, I did take another tough but necessary step, got another writing gig, looking for more writing work, and getting myself set to embark on a historical research endeavor in Richmond, VA that is going to be life-changing. Ready for all of it

80 degrees in #NYC and playoff basketball requires that I be out in the sun to enjoy it all for at least an hour. The streets beckon.

The worst thing about Twitter being taken over by Phony Stark is the fact that it has impacted how I connected with other #freelancewriters and editors - that place was a real go-to for leads and knowledge and community. Here, I hope, I can find some semblance of that.

Bluesky quickly sold out of the t-shirt its CEO wore to troll Mark Zuckerberg
When Bluesky CEO Jay Graber took the SXSW stage this week, she managed to make fun of Mark Zuckerberg without mentioning Meta at all. Her black t-shirt was emblazoned with black text stretching across the chest and sleeves, similar to the style of a…

I don’t know about anyone else, but this blood red full moon happening tonight might just be a passage for a lot of reckoning to happen.

Wildest things I’ve seen today:

- Someone dressed up as Felon47 complete with rubber mask directing traffic on Fifth Avenue by Trump Tower
- people criticizing tributes to those who marched on “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Alabama 60 years ago because they’re “not speaking/not doing something now” 😑

Roy Ayers, the jazz legend, the man whose records are pillars of my formative years up until today, has passed away. And maybe it's fitting that I’m writing this at home feeling the rawness of a rai

The key things right now with all this jackassery happening is to
a)safeguard your mental & physical health & make sure your folks do the same
b)listen to trusted news sources
c)build & strengthen your communities esp.offline
d)resist, persist, rest. repeat.

Don’t tell me this photo isn’t a fair representation after the outright disgrace this dude Trump & Vance put on today with Zelensky in the Oval Office. Every last one of his supporters & cronies should wear this shame to their last days. You were all told, repeatedly. Smdh.

Semicolon, one of Chicago's Black owned bookstores needs your help. They're just $5k from meeting their fundraising goal to add a coffeeshop. Let's get them there today!
As of this morning, the fundraiser to keep Semicolon Bookstore alive — with the addition of a cafe — is at $20,000.

The goal is $25,000.

“We can create this coffee shop venture that is going to be employee-owned, so it’s going to give the team ownership.”
