Telling people that were hurt by a church that “It was people who hurt you. Jesus never will,” is gaslighting and making excuses for failure. Instead say, “I’m sorry. I want to help.” And then be there to help.

As a Christian minister, the sad irony is not lost on me. Also, the United States are not a Christian nation.
Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?
