(they/she) Average social science doer, DIYer, cat lady, and occasional poster of frustrated local politics comments. Some know me as a digital public archaeologist. Personal account. Very tired, as portrayed by Muffin the foster cat.
Possibly the world's most dignified and respected public servant

Very low stakes and no tracking one another or shame, just opting in or mutual encouragement to build momentum. I have a few projects!

Good luck parking in this area without a smartphone and digital forms of payment accessible because the kiosks certainly aren't reliable.

I just drove by an elderly persons house nearby on a corner, where they have a scraggly but maintained yard and charming one storey house, and felt so much dread for what my area is gonna look like as neighbors move on to the next realm

I bet the vinyl plank floor industry is fine though. Gray vinyl plank and extremely specific digital lock mechanisms that track your movement within the building are all the rage it seems.

Not to mention the rent rates are astronomical. It is ridiculous that the cheapest new builds, besides ones that make people qualify for lower rent via intense bureaucratic scrutiny & years long wait lists, cost 3+ weeks of full time paid work at our high minimum wage just for rent.

Meanwhile the nearby Vancouver, WA Reddit Post that I saw said "why does it smell like a fart and butt outside"

I have I think a couple parsnips still too, I pulled a couple and failed to eat them before they (within 2 days) shriveled. As every spring I have every intention to be soooo on top of things with gardening this year!!!! Parsley is gonna be in a covered spot this time cuz it keeps bolting

Yesterday the students in one of my classes discussed this excellent 2018 article by historian Chris Bonner which opens with this incredible story of direct action from 1837 that, sadly, hits especially hard in 2026.
