I don’t understand this. If what he is saying is demonstrably bullshit, then why are news outlets not fact checking him?
The only plausible explanation is that they, too, are complicit in this as truth is replaced by propaganda and as vulnerable people in marginalized communities suffer.

As mush as I despise Trump, he did not create the situation we are in. He exploited it for his gain. He is an indictment of what this country actually is.

I am not sure this is optimism, so much as it is a historical imperative. Fascism is not sustainable. And eventually, it crumbles. Then, we must deal with the human cost of what happened
