Fear Is The Mind Killer

It's not the heat, it's the stupidity!
It's better not to think about it

The president's influence is probably stronger when doing negative things ; it's easier to block, impede, or break, than it is to build things.

So insofar as the orange one is president, we are how you say - fucked

I think I'd like a lot of lawyers personally; I'd hang out with people who consistently use the Socratic method

The state of leveraging lawyers when you need their help, and aren't absolutely fucking loaded is however, very bad.

I had a good friend get basically destroyed by bullshit legal stuff.

Walmart seems the most likely to actually succeed in building a rival, what with their current access to resources and distribution network; but hey, I'll take anything.

The Amazon experience can be summed up as scrolling an infinite copy of identical garbage products; it makes finding anything you might actually like a huge pain in your ass. Unless you know what you specifically want, and it's listed, you will have a bad time.

It seems like a long time ago but it was about 2018 when I got my masters (4.0 btw)

Getting a tech job anywhere was a hellish nightmare, and I ended up accepting 35k until I could move to another state and judo flip successive jobs into something decent.

The tech industry is often a nightmare.

I don't know anything about the conversation happening around this on here

I think using LLMs to find approximately precise trends in semantic meaning this way is pretty fascinating though.

Love the pun

I enjoyed programming in college; I perceived the skill level requirements as you describe to be onerous enough not to pursue it when I went into tech proper.

I basically only consume actual books as audiobooks, so I kind of need this stuff. There are more books I'd buy if I could buy an audiobook version.

While we're on the subject, fuck Audible. That is all.

What models are you using for this?
