New York is — and always will be — a city for all immigrants.

Sucks when the monster you help to foster and create turns his aggression on you huh GOP?
Incredible:

"Nancy Mace of South Carolina has told people she is so frustrated... that she is planning to huddle with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia next week to discuss following her lead and retiring early from Congress."

ICE raids are cruel, inhumane, and do nothing to serve public safety.

My responsibility is to be the mayor to each and every person that calls this city their home. That includes millions of immigrants— of which I am one.

Health care was already too expensive to begin with.

Republicans in DC have decided to pour gasoline on the fire and double premiums for millions.

I’m not ok with that.

They preach “life” and “Christian values,” then turn their backs on actual people.

This administration has made cruelty the norm, from children to trans folks to immigrants.

We deserve better than this.

Proof that this was never about just illegal immigration or going after criminals. Criminals are not showing up to court hearings or interviewing to get green cards. It’s plain bigotry and racism.
Multiple foreign-born spouses of U.S. citizens appeared for their final green card interviews at the local office of USCIS. In several cases, shortly before their interviews concluded, ICE agents entered, handcuffed them and placed them under arrest

The people pointing out this is yet another example of Republicans only taking bigotry seriously when it affects them directly are right—but this state senator is still showing more spine and self-respect than most Republicans these days. It’s an extremely low bar but also, this is a good sign.

I’m honestly impressed. It’s refreshing to see any sitting GOP legislator have conviction and stand up for what’s right regardless of policy disagreements.

PLEASE read this one. Kinda required reading. If you agree, which I hope you do, print in color and magnetically attach to your refrigerator. It is marvelous and very clear to all who visit: this is what we stand for. PERIOD.
