Hello. I'm an adult human.

Left to my own devices, I would be a borderline cat hoarder.

Was not homeschooled by a pigeon.

Offers of Pumpkin Spice Latte will be met with shotgun fire.

Smacks very much of “I know I hogged the toys the whole time, but you must come back to play at my house”.

Nah, bro. I don’t have to do shit. Enjoy your broken toys.

(Not that I am of Norwegian extraction, though. But I am one of those European descent people who are partially privileged by this country. Not enough not to see the cracks under the shellacked facade, though.)

Serious answer: because the U.S. constantly projects this false image of prosperity. As the child of immigrants who were partially sold on this grift? I honestly don’t know whether they would have made the same choices if they had the unvarnished truth instead.

He was one of its products, so yeah, it’s as grim as advertised.

Sounds accurate, sad to say.

“There’s always money in the banana stand”

Right, the one that’s burning.

That’s probably only the tip of the iceberg, Lars.

This is like writing a headline that reads “Sun still shining today”, though.

Why even expect grace from the graceless? His response is about as crass as one could expect.

If your city or town uses flock, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is, and call your local government, asking them to stop buying a Flock membership with their share of your property taxes. It’s worked in several cities in WA state already.

Oh no! I missed this skeet! My condolences!

Santa can’t possibly be this nice.

I recognize that look. It’s “desperately pretending to still be asleep so the cat doesn’t win this food argument”.

So…. of all the Scalzi cats, Saja is the one who finally figured out that Charlie had a lot of minion potential. 🤔

Really living up to his name…🤭

(Sorry about Krissy’s uncle.)

His ideology isn’t “constitutionalism” is my point. “Precedent only when it serves my other beliefs” isn’t originalism or constitutionalism. It’s best described as hacktivism.

It’s almost like evil starts warping from the inside, but it eventually reaches the surface. By the time he’s 50, he will fully look the part of the ghoul he always was on the inside.

Say what you will about his predecessor, Chief Rehnquist (I don’t remember his conservatism fondly), but at least he was consistent in both his principles and leadership.

It’s high time to say enough to him.
December 10, 2025 at 6:36 PM
I remember that in the Obama years, he started aligning with the tenuous liberal majority enough that his own fellow conservative judges started cutting him down. And now that the demagogues are in the majority, he’s pretending to lead them, even against his formerly stated principles.
December 10, 2025 at 6:36 PM
I don’t care who they start with. He’s gotta go simply for allowing all the grift to go unnoticed.

He’s been Chief Justice for his entire tenure, and to look back at his 20+ years in the position, he’s always been a will o’ the wisp presence. He just follows, rather than lead.

Right? I’ve self inflicted worse scrapes exiting my own car. How old is that CPB agent that he needs a prosecution to kiss it all better? 🤔

Ok, so fear of retaliation supersedes doing the right and moral thing.

… Have you considered that this attitude is what got us where we are today begin with?

There are precedents for a Supreme being impeached for politically charged conduct (see: Samuel Chase).

Impeachment exists as a way to establish that no one is above the law, not even high court judges. It’s time to actually use it, or come up with a better way to take out the rot.

They need to be impeached. Starting with Roberts. Constitutionalist my ass.
