I admire Kat’s transparency and I think everyone should be understanding. We shouldn’t hold one missed event against someone, especially if it’s out of their control.

We should focus on substance like values and records to defend or support candidates we like, and leave the “isms” to MAGA.

Good evening Edgewater Community, I wanted to first thank all of the volunteers and members of Indivisible Edgewater for all of their work in our community to stand up and fight back against this regime. Earlier this evening, I was scheduled to attend a Forum with members. And then I didn't show up. I want to offer my sincerest apologies as well as an explanation. I have a chronic illness called narcolepsy. It makes me extremely tired and occasionally causes "sleep attacks," times when my brain literally cannot stay awake. My condition is usually well-managed but - like with any disability - has flare-ups and today was one of those. I ended up sleeping through alarms, calls, and even my campaign manager knocking on my door repeatedly. This is not an excuse, but I wanted to be transparent and also stress that I would love to talk with those of you with questions. We are trying to set up a time for another forum, but also if you'd like to speak 1-on-1, please email us at hello @katforillinois.com. I have a policy that I'll meet with any District resident any time - so, I'd love to chat and answer any questions you may have. Once again, I am so sorry and - to be honest - very embarrassed. If the 25th Amendment is invoked, Congress can vote to remove President Trump by secret ballot. That’s why I think the 25th Amendment is preferable to impeachment, even if it requires 2/3 of both chambers. Voting by secret ballot protects our congressional representatives.
