My real concern is whether Amicus, the mascot of the Canadian Supreme Court, has also been compelled to change robes.

What a beautiful proposed amendment to Bill 127, the "Protecting Nova Scotians Act". Unfortunately, the proposed amendment was defeated.
A printed legislative document titled Bill #127 – Protecting Nova Scotians Act. It’s a proposed amendment sheet labeled “CHANGES RECOMMENDED TO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE HOUSE ON BILLS.” The amendment suggests deleting the title “Protecting Nova Scotians” and substituting “Big Omnibus Bill that Really Should be Different Bills that are Voted on Separately.” Handwritten notes in blue ink indicate the amendment was “DEFEATED – Oct 1, 2025” and names S. LeBlanc, CWHB, Clause 1.

It was introduced 10 days ago, and passed within a week. One third to one half of my posts over the last 10 days have been about this.

The Privacy Commissioner supports Bill S-209, An Act to restrict young persons’ online access to pornographic material. He should have stuck with the privacy aspects. His support shows disregard for the freedom of expression rights of adults and mature young people. www.priv.gc.ca/en/opc-actio...

Yup. Loads. For example: If you speed while driving, it doesn't matter whether you intended to speed or even knew if you were speeding. Or even knew that there was a speed limit.

The original Daleks were of indeterminate gender, but that's definitely a buoy.

There was a typo on the original poster. The name of the building at Mount Saint Vincent University is the Margaret Norrie McCain Centre - Room 105 / 106.

"Premier Tim Houston says his view on order-making power has changed since forming government." Yup, that's how it always works. It's interesting how being the government changes one's view of government transparency and accountability. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

A number of people have said ‘you don’t like the Online Safety Act - what’s *your* solution?’

My answer to that is ‘solution to what?’ The biggest problem with the Online Safety Act is that it claims to deal with a lot of disparate, disconnected and often very vague problems. 🧵 1/6

Nova Scotia Info and Privacy Commissioner issues preliminary views on Bill 150, replacing the province's access and privacy laws. I'm still digesting the bill, but I have to say I agree with what he has to say. oipc.novascotia.ca/sites/defaul...
