Nah, very, very few. You clearly don’t know the kind of people who follow me.

He remains an utter lunatic.

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

Who ever thought that?????
paulbernal.bsky.social
Yup, but you quibbled over the term hacking. Any competent hacker would use the easiest method of access available.

On the current trajectory, he will require six generations of white-English ancestors by the end of the year.

Legally speaking it was. An offence under the Computer Misuse Act.

The thought had occurred to me…. 😀

I did say I’d seen this film before. 😀

The RIAA was suing teenagers. We had to sit through ⬇️ this shit anytime we wanted to watch a DVD. A whole generation shamed for using Limewire and torrents. Only for these silicone valley assholes to now find copyright infringement a necessary evil they shouldn’t have to answer for

Horrible, horrible images from Portland:

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

No, no, this totally different. (Yes)

UAE has no democratically elected institutions, no free speech and an appalling human rights record.

Its economy functions on completely different metrics to the ours & ranks well below us for GDP

No serious person would ever think that we should emulate it.

But here's Tice calling us decadent

You'd do *anything* but to admit immigration is a good thing

I think the thing with the debate about ‘Pro-Natalism’ is that everyone kind of dances around saying explicitly is that revealed preferences show lots of people think having kids of sort of sucks for the parent but is clearly necessary for society.

Another day.

Another presidential threat to jail two of his political opponents.

What will it take for Republicans in Congress to speak out?

While we still have a democracy left.

It’s never the degree certificate. It’s who you know and how you know them, and why you know them.

So, should I go and see the Springsteen film?
paulbernal.bsky.social
I wasn’t making that argument: what I was saying was very different. What would really help (in my view) is a much wider variety of educational backgrounds for politicians… and indeed for everyone, which is where this thread started.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?
Donald Trump Truth Social Post: Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also.

No, but I would hope they wouldn’t get a fast-track to the top of a political party, regardless of talent. I’m not just talking about Tories, of course: both Milibands, Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper, as well as Ed Davey and Danny Alexander are PPE grads.
paulbernal.bsky.social
I’m reasonably sure that’s more about you than the degree - just as my Cambridge maths degree wasn’t really the key to much for me. One of the problems with PPE is that as well as good people it attracts the kind of politically ambitious people who are nightmares in themselves.
