Noem’s agenda for the trip has not been announced.

Sen. Wyden had a blunt response: “Kristi Noem is cosplaying as a public official. In reality, she’s been sent by Trump to incite violence."

Portland is so peaceful Republicans had to go all the way to South America to find photos from years ago for their bad memes.

The Oregon Republican Party tried to help Donald Trump make the case for military intervention in Portland with an image of a fiery protest — but since Portland is calm, they had to fabricate one by merging old photos of police in Ecuador and protesters in Brazil www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Kristi Noem is cosplaying as a public official. In reality, she's been sent by Trump to incite violence. Don't tar and feather her as Speaker Johnson suggested for Governor Newsom. The best response to her playacting as cop? Ignore her and keep supporting our community.

Horrible, horrible images from Portland:

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

Republicans talk a big game about toning down political violence. But last week I called for a vote on my bill that would have given all Americans, including judges and other elected officials like this necessary privacy protections to stay safe. Republicans blocked it.

Same judge. While Miller rails about judges.

For everyone in the comments trying to identify the animal: there was heavy internal debate in our office over what this was. We eventually landed on a capybara. That’s Portland for you.

This victory supports what Oregonians already know: we don’t need or want Donald Trump to provoke violence by deploying federal troops in our state. I’ll keep working to stop Trump from fulfilling his perverse fantasy of making Portland the center of his assault on U.S. cities.

A judge on Saturday ordered the Trump administration to halt its mobilization of 200 Oregon National Guard troops to protect the ICE building in Portland and its officers amid nightly protests.

@wyden.senate.gov this week tried to pass new laws that would extend the privacy protections government officials enjoy to the entire public, but Ted Cruz scuttled the effort by lying about how the updates would have stopped sex offender registries from existing

Republicans control the White House, Senate, and the House. This government shutdown is failed Republican leadership on full display.

Portland not beating the Hell On Earth allegations. @wyden.senate.gov
A giant menacing skeleton appears to climb out of my neighbor's lushiously green front lawn. This is a great bit of movie magic since it's an upper torso only decoration, which implies the bottom half of the huge creature is buried in the hillside. There's also gravestones posted in their rose bed and white ragged ghosts hanging from their trees and boney flamingos on sticks. Not pictured: their Hello Kitty Halloween inflatable. Really they just went all out here.

Trump is laying the groundwork to come after your Social Security if he shuts the government down
jacobbogage.bsky.social
👀 Just Now -- President Trump in the Oval Office said a government shutdown gives his administration the power to cut benefit programs, which include Social Security and Medicare.

www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
“We can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them, and irreversible by them, like cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like. And, you all know Russell Vought. He’s become very popular recently because he can trim the budget to a level that you couldn't do any other way. So they're taking a risk by having a shutdown. Because of the shutdown, we can do things medically and other ways, including benefits. We can cut large numbers of people. We don't want to do that, but we don't want fraud, waste and abuse.”

It was definitely pretty frightening a few mornings ago when I went for a walk near Alberta Park. I wasn't sure what that odd glow was in the sky.
