i don't mind grinding in my usual rpgs but strategy games in this vein i was never good at 😭this is why i stopped playing disgaea games HFKJSDG HOWEVER those are a thousand times more grindy so i will survive fft i just need to pace myself and not play when i'm in a bad mood

i've been snacking on bell peppers and carrots lately when i wanna cronch

i eat okay during mealtimes, i just snack so much 😭 so i figure i'd try to at least snack on smth that's not cream cheese chips for once cause even if once in a while is okay i know i'll end up eating them every day

yeah like it was so heavily inspired by campy teen scream horrors to begin with??? i think the movie is a different story altogether though. similar premise but other characters and narrative

i do want attention. but i'd also rather have my book receive 0 sales for the rest of my life than act like an insecure high school bully who switches personality based on follower counts

i might complain and i might get upset. in fact i most likely will. but that does not make me inauthentic.

authentic authors with real voices get sad sometimes that they're not listened to or given a chance and immediately they're the whiny attention seekers but meanwhile... the cliquey competitive "step on your peers" narcissism mentality that's so prevalent in the writing community is overlooked

it's always "you're upset because you're doing it wrong" and "if you care about numbers you're not authentic"

i don't know about you, but i have the capacity to care about several things at once and not let either of those things dictate me. but i am still human and can and will get upset. die mad.

most people don't take kindly to random strangers diagnosing obsession without prior knowledge or context. people truly will just slap down something on black and white as if there is never any nuance, as if you can't do and think and say several things at the same time.

for the people who do this in good faith, i appreciate that this is you communicating that yes, it IS important not to cling too hard to engagement etc. because it can become an obsession. that you do need to create for you.

like. we rly are not allowed to FEEL anything. god forbid any of us express sadness over the fact that fewer and fewer people read, or feel upset that we can't get eyes on our work. no no, we're not allowed to be upset, because that must mean we only ever did it for attention and nothing else!
