NEW: My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze. This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.

Also works in reverse!

I actually backed into writing about history many years after graduating college with a mismash of classes. Too many people think it's irrelevant, but history IS current events.
Moderating a panel of past History majors, telling our current students about the career paths they took — from politics and law to cultural work and consulting. Really impressive, and that’s with a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter missing due to being sick.

I'm curious. During the campaign, fact-checkers routinely dinged the Harris campaign for calling Project 2025 Trump's playbook, saying "Trump has denied this."

Have any of them admitted how badly they got rolled in the most obvious of ways?
During the campaign, Donald Trump swore he had “nothing to do with” Project 2025. Now, as president-elect, Trump has filled his administration with people who have ties to the right-wing policy blueprint that would overhaul the federal government. nyti.ms/3BhAxxA

Fifty. Six. Percent. Increase. In. The deaths. Of. Pregnant. People.
"Across Texas, residency applications in ob-gyn dropped significantly. Data from the Gender Equity Policy Institute revealed a fifty-six-per-cent spike in maternal deaths in the state between 2019 and 2022."

Public school funding has been leaking out into private schools for some time. Especially concerning when these schools are religious.

This leakage was slow. Now, it's approaching "firehose."

We can't put it back. They were too smart. So now.... it's Satanic School o'clock. It's the only way.
Ohio Republicans have given nearly a billion dollars to private schools through vouchers.

Now, one group is steering a portion of that money to *Christian* schools by having taxpayers cover construction costs for new and expanding buildings.
