This is big news that Michigan’s informed consent law for abortion was struck down. When myself and my co-researchers looked at the materials that were created by the state of Michigan to “inform” people seeking abortion, we found that it was riddled with misinformation. wwmt.com/news/state/r...

A judge struck down Michigan's 24-hour waiting period before an abortion, saying it conflicts with a voter-approved amendment in the state constitution.

It’s bittersweet graduating some of my grad students. Especially the ones who I really got to know, and loved working with. I’m always a little sad to see them go because we won’t be having our amazing class discussions and I won’t be reading their insightful work.

Why do I get my best writing ideas when I’m brushing my teeth, on my way to bed, and my computer is at 1% battery?

This administration, like all far right conservatives, have an obsession with having children. And it’s not because they just love kids. It’s all about control, extreme and antiquated gender roles, and biological determinism. It’s not popular, it’s dangerous, and it’s racist.
Let’s take a look…

And it’s all a manifestation of toxic masculinity.
"the Trump regime is a Cybertruck, meant to look aggressive and intimidating, a bully car, but also one sloppily made to low standards, one that falls apart as it goes, with pieces that can be yanked off by hand. It shouts that it's strong, but it's weak." @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social

Wouldn’t it be a shame if during this ill-advised and unconstitutional breakdown of the department of education, all of our student loan debt information was just… suddenly lost… oops! 😏🤞

The internet at my institution is horrible. It’s like being back in 1995 where you’d wait for a website to load. Why is this happening?!

I see that a federal judge has blocked trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship. The constitution is very clear on this one. It’s just wild how far reaching that would have been. My 80+ year old uncles would not be citizens because my grandma was not yet naturalized when she had them.

I definitely felt this one!

Next week I’ll be attending a conference on reproductive ethics. I’ll be talking about an ongoing study on abortion attitudes, and knowledge about abortion services amongst college students. Looking at the conference schedule, I’m so excited to hear these other presenters!

For the people who voted for their state’s abortion ballot measure but then also for trump/Vance: why? Was there a belief that the final say on abortion policy is in the states? This will most certainly not be the case come 2025.
