I don't get the fixation on skin colour- like Jenrick's comments on 'no white faces'. It's the least interesting & most superficial aspect of someone. From my new book: www.penguin.co.uk/books/458539...

People feel their lives are harder than their parents- Farage offers a compelling narrative of why (immigrants) and how he will fix it (stop immigration). I think it's a completely wrong explanation, but it's simple and appealing- and feeds into our worse impulses.

People thinking that Reform's suggestions of getting rid of legal immigrants will fix the NHS have no idea how much it will hurt healthcare. Immigrants & children of immigrants keep the NHS functioning. Same with social care.

Yes- there's the freedom to bear arms. What about the freedom for children to go to school- and people to live in a society- without being shot?

Another mass school shooting in the US. Another day of shame for the United States. How many more kids have to die before the government takes action? This isn't happening in other G7 countries. There will always be unstable individuals- it's whether they can get their hands on a gun.
