We might not have the access to all of the culture and fancy museums, but if it’s something the North does well, it’s music. We have cracking bands. Tonight it’s the Latham’s at Rock City.

When you find yourself in a place that appears to be way above your pay grade… look for the one tattooed person and hang with them. There is always one (and they also appear to have gone into the wrong theatre bar!)

The last time I saw the Levellers, was 1993. They played a protest concert at Brixton Common with the Manics. Stephen Lawrence had just been murdered. I was studying in SE London. I lived in Plumstead just down the street from where he lived. I used the bus on which he waited when he was murdered.

Everyone in the family now gravitates to my new keyboard and we now call it the “keyboard of joy”. We are such nerds.
