Also menopause… we actually went to the open day yesterday as well… when it wasn’t on. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Me planning/leading D and his friend, was like a cat hearding cats. I am not sure how any of us managed to survive this weekend. 😂

Sorry if my previous messages came out all garbled… I was posting whilst assisting autistic young adults (preferred term) around a uni open-day. Let’s just say my mind was not fully on writing short-form posts 😂 (More, don’t cross the street now and are you okay with the crowds?).

I say “Autistic” due to D’s preference. I asked what his preferred term of how he sees the world and he said he preferred to say he was autistic because that’s affect everything he does, despite him having multiple diagnoses. So we should both should learn to make assumptions on terms.

That’s really common. I’ve seen it a lot with D. The friendships and people he was able to engage with were always autistic. Even from a very early age. We were talking about it the other day. He says it’s probably to do with social requirements that NT’s need and autistics forgo.

I have been wondering the same. Not ADHD but definitely the autism. I took the AQ50 tests and on one I was classed as autistic but one another I was just shy of another, but I am a woman.

It was really interesting. I enjoyed it. Nice to see my old uni get a mention. Yes, I didn’t get the grades. 😂

Yeah… a long while back. I think it was his fear of blood that was the issue really. When he realised that they weren’t that bloody (well I don’t show him any blood) it was fine.
