Hopefully this excellent article shows the complexity of the issue and gets people to really study the issue.

There's a vast literature and everyone should have access through their library.

Great story, and something I had been wondering about after hearing from WPRI that it was first leaked on Insta.

But the Rhode Map comment and shot at "investigative journalists" has me wondering if there's a cold war I've been missing...

SCOOP — Pennsylvania prosecutors were alerted to possible voting irregularities by one of MAGA's leading voices against voter fraud. A long paper trail shows Jack Posobiec has been living in Maryland but voting using his parents' PA address for years.

From @jsweetli.bsky.social, @slate.com + me:

Does this increase his vulnerability in the current climate? One would certainly think so.

One question that comes to mind: Does Rep. Craven
seek reelection to his seat in the General Assembly?

It was expected his son, Rob Craven Jr., would run for HD 32.

BREAKING: Bob Craven is ending his campaign for AG after just four days.

His decision comes hours before Target 12 was set to air new details about his past legal troubles. w/

Interesting.

The community college does this, while the university rolls out a public sector municipal finance program.

In the aggregate, concerted if uncoordinated, efforts to get more people to understand money, finance & banking can only help a relatively poorer state w/ wealthy neoghbors

Sounds like the senator supports rent-seeking & inefficiency.

He wants the city to pay itself through Paolino, allowing him to leverage the cash flow (& likely skim a piece off the top for processing costs) while incurring the opportunity cost of not having the cash for its other expenses.

Sometimes it's just for the snark.

Also, I don't take any discussion of the Speaker running for Governor seriously. It doesn't make much sense to me; I don't see an upside.

Sounds like Shekarchi is leading with people bad at politics. Not sure that's a winning coalition and I'm certain he knows that.

It seems worthy to note that the likely reason it remained in draft form, is to shield it from APRA disclosure.

#7: Can't see the forest for the trees.

RI's economic growth is hindered by the mutual disregard of Governors & the GA of municipalities

Evergreen contracts; IOD for thee, not me; presumed job-related illness expansion; etc... struggling locals hurt all growth: population, business, wages & taxes.

Interesting report, it places RI in a better position than Mass. or Ct, despite the others having higher incomes & generally being considered financially superior.

Not sure I buy it, but less than terrible news is usually good news for RI.

Why would you build a building on pay-go? Seems like fiscal malpractice.

Also, since there is already insufficient parking around the capitol & the meters are effectively a tax for appealing to your government (since RIPTA is unreliable) why not build a parking structure?

I'm not sure if interpreting the words, "request for information," as a common noun rather than a proper noun in this context seems incredulous or incompetent.

It may be as simple a fix as defining the term in the statute, but for anyone familiar with government procurement, this is pretty absurd.
