Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. I’ve knitted for years, but still learning proper crochet technique. As this is for a costume, I am OK with the seam in this instance, but am now inspired to crochet hats for gifting (so much faster than knitting!) and want to achieve an invisible join.

It is “Oma’s Curlers” by Sara Sach at Posh Pooch Designs. Here is an example of one of the rows: Ch3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3, *1 dc in the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next st*. Repeat From * to * around, Join, ch 3 (later rows do not call for 1DC in same stitch as C3).

I just took a reading break from The Jasad Crown a few minutes ago. I am almost to the end and it is SO good! I’ll be sad when I’m finished though because I love this story so much.

It turned out great! I am an experienced sourdough baker, but made the mistake of forgetting to warm the water before the 1st proof & thought it’d never rise. I threw it in a slightly warmed oven for the second proof and it finally got all marshmallowy and just right for baking.

Babel by R.F. Kuang (amazing!) and just started Everyone Who is Gone is Here by Jonathan Blitzer as it’s very timely with the immigration EOs signed this week.

If you like fun cozy mysteries, the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley is delightful and usually available on Libby. If you like old gothic witchy type books, I have read (and re-read) Thornyhold by Mary Stewart so many times the spine glue disintegrated. Anything by Bill Bryson.

I’m glad my Mom read it with me because otherwise I’d have asked her, “where do I even begin in describing all that took place in this story?” I also found myself jotting down new-to-me vocab words. I love when I encounter an erudite author’s work!

She writes The Empyrean series, which has a new release coming out this week (my neighborhood bookstores have sold out midnight release parties planned). I’ve got Fourth Wing but haven’t read it yet. Curious about this one!

I own both James and Everyone Who is Here is Gone. I used to travel for work to Latin America including C.A. countries and the U.S. role over the past century is something the avg American may not know much about: UFC, military coups, proxy wars, immigration policy. Looking forward to reading.
