I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

My most controversial take on this is probably that while I think reproductive freedom should be sacrosanct, I don’t really have any problem with additional taxes on (high income) childless people. Someone gotta pay into the pensions!

Sometimes I think about what happens if I lose the phone — or it dies, whatever, out and about and may need to ask for help. I’m a white able’d lady so the kindness of strangers isn’t *totally* safe for me, but it is way safer than for a woman of color/queer/disabled person.
