Here's my take as an agnostic as to the "God can't be both all-powerful AND all-knowing and still be good" claim. AFAIK the claim is like, if God knows all the suffering that will happen ahead of time, and can stop it, there's no reason why he should let it happen.

Byronic hero according to me: has non-mainstream principles and sticks to them fastidiously despite social fallout for doing so.
Courtly love hero: has mainstream principles that he initially embodies REALLY WELL, then violates them (for love!) despite social fallout for doing so (and is ashamed!)
