Oh and to be clear, it seems to happen at random. I can listen to a whole album, and/or scan over a thousand files before the crash occurs. But also can't seem to narrow it to a particular file...

Yeah that was the version I tried after experiencing the issue. Same problem.
Clearly I just need to brush up on how to get some proper logs and figure it out.

I thought my issue was limited to media library scanning but I was able to reproduce just playing media files.
Def need to try some earlier builds I think.
Going to have to test a bit before I can say anything worth saying.

If I can get the Affinity suite and Ableton with VST's working...literally 0 reason to ever go back.

Yeah, the forced migration is what got me here.
Honestly Linux as a desktop OS is leagues beyond when I last tried it years ago.
Still a bunch of caveats tho that I'm only jumping over b/c I've worked with Linux in my jobs.

But Bottles, Lutris, etc get you p far with a lot of Windows apps.

I can get it to play media files but something re: scanning crashes the process.
Actually tempted to do a writeup if I figure it out.

I'm working through it. I can get it to run, but getting it capable of scanning a folder to build out a media library is something I'm still trying to figure out.
