Archon (& later, Archon Ultra) is of the best games of all time, & a great action battle chess. The fantasy pieces w/different attacks were unique, & the changing light/dark squares rotated the advantage on areas during the game. If it came out on any system today, I'd play the heck out of it

My guess is lag would only be seen when the original 3DO CD-ROM was involved. Game data was frequently streamed during play & not fully loaded into memory all at once. Developers used asynchronous loading to stream data from CD-ROM to RAM as needed during gameplay to avoid loading screens

I would play Qix on any system it came out for. Most recently, Sega Genesis Ultime Qix. I love that every game is different, & every person has their own strategy for clearing levels. The temptation to trap the enemies in small areas for more points gives the play extra joy in gaming the best score.

Space Harrier II was a fun game on Sega Genesis and fairly faithful to the arcade original. Lots of button mashing to shoot all the enemies, and the colors were outlandish and psychedelic.

Game Gear games covered all genres and were great, whether tennis, Sonic the Hedgehog, or an RPG. GameGear was in color with a nice size screen. It even had a video out to play on a TV if you wanted that. When I worked for Babbage's selling GameGear & GameBoy, I didn't have trouble selling either.

I loved Maze Craze. My favorite is 2-player w/invisible maze; it's like trying to find your way out by feeling along the walls. Another cool feature is dropping a fake wall piece that your opponent can walk through, but which looks like a wall. A great way to confuse & delay your opponent's progress

Mystic Defender is an action platformer game w/cool weapons that you charge up before using (repeatedly) during attacks. Good execution of game & level design. Fun to play

Coming out just 3 months after launch of the Sega Genesis it was a solid run-n-gun game to buy w/the Genesis for Christmas 1989

This looks awesome and the logo is familiar. I remember a Hydlide game I played as a youngster and I only remember a could area of a building and that being the area I couldn't figure out what to do next and quit playing. I'll have to try to find Super Hydlide and play it.

I love playing Joust with (against?) my friends on the PC with MAME using the XArcade dual joystick.

Ahh, so dusty, I need to clean up!

I was going through my Switch games last night and decided to play Dadish, which has such awesome game difficulty/balance. I have a game well in progress, & I think I may be on the last level, but its so hard, deliciously so.

My first computer was a PCjr, & I typed in BASIC games from COMPUTE! magazine. IBM PC DOS & extensive manuals helped me learn DOS

Best games: Jumpman, Kings Quest, Ultima III, Pinball Construction Set, Wizardry, StarFleet Battles, Zork, Gato, & HardHat Mac. Every one of those games is worth playing

Warlords was one of my favorite Atari 2600 games, especially playing 4-player with my cousins at Christmas.

I never did understand what the player icon was supposed to represent. It looks like the ship from Defender.

I think of the 3DO daily, and it's my #1 played system.
