I do weird and kinky furry art. This account is very NSFW.
Bi, he/him
That'd be hilarious x) It's not that it's not a good fit, per se. More that I was looking to possibly donate my time to someone who needs it, rather than just doing like shitposts for fun.

Oh I was thinking more along the lines of doing something for someone's personal brand/channel

Yeah, that's what I'm curious about. I can do a lot in AE. There are some things that would be easier to do in Blender (materials and lighting for sure). But I want to see how capable it is for more general motion graphics.

Note this would be for motion graphics specifically: custom transitions, logo animation or kinetic type. Not for character animation or 3D modeling

That happens a lot... you know me too well |>

Yeah! Excessive, eldritch-level multi is so good <3

It's the fluid sim that really slows it down |>

Yeah, that was a huge improvement that needed to happen. But I've noticed since then they go through waves of caring about UI or not.

Once again this quote from Charles Babbage proves evergreen (slightly altered for context): "I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a [user interface design decision]"

Is it too much to ask that the snap button turns on when you use the shortcut for transform snapping, so you know its settings are now being used? No? Nobody thought about that?
February 10, 2026 at 1:14 PM
This is bizarrely counterintuitive to me. I would assume if the button is off, the settings within that button would not be used and the transform snap would revert to some default mode.

But no. The button can be *off*, but a sub-selection inside that button can be *on*, and then it uses that.

And it's even worse with Blender because:
- there are literally thousands of shortcuts
- common shortcuts all do something different depending on what mode you're in
- it has incredibly poor official documentation
- the in-software tool tips are incomplete
- the community is genuinely awful

And this is a similar problem with Linux, in that as long as you don't need anything special, it works great. But the instant you have to go off the beaten path, god help you.
February 9, 2026 at 11:27 PM
I might eventually. I'm too frustrated right now and gave up for today.
February 9, 2026 at 11:25 PM
Blender is a really good example of why I'm hesitant to move to anything Linux. (Aside from the Adobe Suite also not running on it.)

It's great when it works. But if you accidentally hit one wrong key and get the software into a state that doesn't match your mental model, you are utterly screwed.
February 9, 2026 at 11:21 PM
I can't search for it because everything comes back with info on the snapping toggle, which isn't what I'm using. I can't seem to describe the problem in a way that search engines (or AI) understand. I burned an hour trying to figure this out and I still don't even have a clear idea of what's wrong

Oh fuck yes, this is so good
