I guess it’s outrageous that the American people want to know who is inside the government seeking to dismantle it and gain access to their data and a host of other sensitive info. We aren’t allowed to know who they are? Why not?

For extra context, NCMEC runs the massive hashed database of CSAM that companies use to detect it on their platforms. If NCMEC were shut down, CSAM would proliferate everywhere. Not hard to see why the far right would want that while pinning blame on trans people.
New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

US companies were about to cook Trump. So he went up to Pres. Sheinbaum like a dog, on his hands and knees, begging her to give him a “win,” and she said NO. He did all this, crashed the stock market, just for Mexico to say they’re not doing more than they already are. He caved and got NOTHING!

Wired reported that govt tech workers had to defend their work to the Neuralink intern in an Office Space-esque scene.

With all due respect to @gene4va.bsky.social, Let's make this more clear.

Trump has fired the people who treated an armed attack on Congress as a crime BECAUSE they treated it as a crime.

No member of Congress should defend terrorist attacks on themselves.
FBI firings are a 5 alarm fire.

Firing the senior leadership, scores of senior agents and hundreds of line agents will make us less safe from criminals and external threats. This is a catastrophe of yet incalculable proportions. These attacks on law enforcement are a menace to the American people.

Really smart thread: Make categories and replace outrage with categorization.
🧵I think we need to talk about *waves hands wildly in all directions* differently.

I see 3 goals:
-Dismantling democracy+systems of accountability
-Advancing white supremacist policies here+abroad
-Immiserating non-billionaires for financial gain

Each action is toward those one/all of those goals.
So if I'm getting the chronology right, Trump/Musk & minions gutted the FBI in time for a Friday night news dump, hours ahead of launching their long-promised trade war. I hate to ascribe to them anything like careful thought but *wink* "they won't be talking about the FBI on Monday!" comes to mind.

PS Please DO NOT stutter when talking about goal 2: Advancing white supremacist policies here+abroad.

The anti-DEI crap? White supremacism.
Dismantling USAID? White supremacism.
The anti-trans & anti-repro crap? Male supremacism, which is necessary for white supremacism.

CALL IT WHAT IT IS.
