If that sketchbook tour on youtube is lookin a lil too clean just remember they probably have a side sketchbook where they run through a bunch of messy sketches/thumbnails, exercises and warmups, and what you see is their portfolio/social media sketchbook curated for viewing by the public

When someones is complaining about struggling to draw something in a piece. Don't be that jackass that says "Oh, that's super easy, lemme show you how I do it" And ESPECIALLY when you have a vastly different art styles.

If you work on a computer, buy yourself some kinda gamepad with as many keys as you can find. Bind hotkeys to em, and then use your non-drawing hand to switch your tools on the fly and perform other lil tasks like moving the canvas. Once you have the muscle memory, it streamlines your work A _TON_.

If you want to draw from life, you will learn more from observation than from anatomy books. Look. See how body parts attach to each other. Measure the body against itself (ie that knee is as high as that shoulder, etc). LOOK at your subject.

Done is better than perfect. That's the biggest lesson I learned from working on and completing my 7-year webcomic. If you keep creating, you will improve, so years down the line, when you look at your old work, you'll see mistakes - even if you tried to make it "perfect".

I used to be afraid that I “ruin” my sketchbook by drawing bad sketch on its first page, so I jumped on page 2 and left the first one for a moment when I am warmed up and more confident.
