Who is Doriane Pin, what's she done and why does she have a large fanbase for a struggling FRegional driver? A career retrospective and driver evangelism 🧵. Simple answer: she's a French racing driver; the first thing you'll notice is she's tiny - short enough she had to delay karting by a year.

Yeah they have equal opportunity low standards I'll say that for them

Oh wait he also finished 17th in the 2025 Dubai 24 Hours that makes all the difference. In terms of world champions in other forms of motorsport Valentino Rossi has a better sportscar career and he has more sense.

I feel like if you're going to run a 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿 livery you should at least do it on a road course where he has a chance of winning.... looks cool though.

Yeah, this is how I feel about the London ePrix, the first 75% of the journey to which is identical to my commute to the office when I go in...

His only real mistake this year was failing to notice Cordeel spun on the racing line on the last lap in the sprint at Spielberg. And...I dunno, it's visible from the onboard but from the driving position, with Mini in front, I'm not sure how much of a chance he had. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IYG...

It was Team Lotus's first victory, and Ireland's only Grand Prix win. He wasn't super impressed with it, though, later saying "Moss and Brabham were there with V8 Climaxes and I only had a straight four, but luckily they both blew up and I was the guy left."

On October 8, 1961, #F1 found its first home in the United States. 🇺🇸

Innes Ireland of Team Lotus won the inaugural US Grand Prix at Watkins Glen.

Oh and if you take his one mechanical failure out that average jumps to 4.77.
putdorianedown.bsky.social
Since it's looking a lot like F1 isn't going to want him (bizarrely), there are a lot of places who could do worse than someone who can somehow average fifth place during this year's F2 chaos.
putdorianedown.bsky.social
The actual reason I was looking up Fornaroli's F2 placings is because I wondered how his consistency compared to Alex Palou's otherworldly year. The answer is that Palou's average position was 4.06 and Fornaroli's is 5.48, so about one and a half places back. Not bad for a feeder series.

Stupid F2 fact: since Spa, championship leader Leo Fornaroli's places have been 1st, 5th, 5th, 1st, 1st, 5th, 5th, 5th.

I mean _presumably_ he won't continue the sequence with three first places in the next few races but still.

Speedrun getting fired by RB (presumably by crashing into Max Verstappen, which is probably the only way to do it that fast and also quite in character).
putdorianedown.bsky.social
Or at least half of 2027, given most of the rumours say RB.

Fun fact, this car's highlights are pink on IMSA's website. www.imsa.com/news/2025/10.... Pretty sure S365 have the right colour balance though.

sorry I'm not convinced Argentina has enough touring car championships yet
putdorianedown.bsky.social
I mean the FIA as an organisation is questionably fit for purpose and it's unclear to me why the interests of motorsport and the touring/mobility side are even aligned at this point, but yeah the way you elect an FIA president is one of the worse parts of an already bad whole.

This one we knew was coming but I'm still excited to see how Jaguar will screw this one up. You'd think it'd be difficult but we've thought that before.

I was just going to renumber FRegional as F4 after turning F4 into F5 so as to have a numerical pyramid rather than motorsports having discovered this new number "regional" in between 4 and 3.

it's so weird to see brands renege and pivot back toward ICE cars, but from what I'm seeing from their ICE efforts, IDK if they knew how to make those either
putdorianedown.bsky.social
Or at least that's the official reason, but given that Le Mans doesn't use the BoP from the rest of the WEC it's not a very convincing explanation.

This would seem to allow for two privateers running one car each.
