Went up to 1000m for today's delightful hike. It was a great hike with amazing company, beautiful landscapes, and heaps of snow.

Stendal has a LOT of abandoned, falling apart industrial buildings visible from the train tracks. It really is a bad look. I have been to the town center which is lovely! That this town looks so bad from the train is a pity and a disservice to what is actually a lovely town.

Smart move! Small town hosts a job fair right after Christmas specifically targeting those home for the holidays. Complete with advertising at the train station.

Observing people on trains is always entertaining. Today I've witnessed amazing children's calisthenics on the ICE. Now two ladies next to me, who didn't know each other, have struck up a lively conversation in Spanish. Not a common language around here, so I am fascinated they found each other.

After various train troubles, I am now on plan C. Time for some sustenance in the shape of a vegetarian dürüm with halloumi.

With all shops open on a Sunday, Leipzig train station is not beating the allegations that it is a shopping center with train connection.
