Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

20% of military spouses are unemployed- driven by frequent moves.

Almost 40% are underemployed and earn less than peers with similar education and training

Many but not all junior enlisted, military families will live in on base housing. Those that live off base will receive a housing allowance indexed to local costs plus the size of their family. The known rates of food insecurity and other financial hardship account for both groups.

Here’s where I will note that many banks like Navy Federal, PenFed, USAA and others will do zero percent interest loans during shutdowns if you have your pay being direct deposited with them, which is amazing- but shouldn’t be necessary
