So I’m just gonna put this out there even though nobody is asking for my opinion. But in the wake of all this discourse around the Expedition 33 devs and Nintendo games, I have thoughts.

I can’t believe these still exist!
Funny story, I really struggled to learn how to read. I’m not sure why. I had really good language skills and an unusually high vocabulary. But it took longer for it to click with me. These games really helped bridge the gap.

I’m going to be honest folks, I have been playing video games daily since before I can remember. I forgot the GTAVI was (theoretically) still in development. I assumed it had died long ago.

I’ve heard a few people complain about the Switch 2 only having achievements in some games and only in the mobile app. Maybe I’m an outlier here and no shade to anyone that likes achievements but I don’t think I’ve once gone out of my way to get an achievement in a game.
I’ve just never cared.

So the pastor I went through conversion therapy with still writes academic articles. For some reason he felt qualified to weigh in on AI in academia. It’s not even an article as much as it is an institution backed blog post in which he says, “Fear not! This won’t lead to laziness!”

So I don’t post much on social media. Mostly because my old church friends and family can see it. And I’m way too lazy to create an alt or block them. But they aren’t here so we’ll see how this goes.

So completely random, I was out on the north side of town and wearing one of my favorite shirts that says, “Thank God I’m Queer”. As I was about to cross the street a stranger pulled up in their truck and asked me if I thought my shirt might be offensive to some people, namely Christians. (1/?)

Duolingo is trying to make me feel bad for dropping it. This would be a little cute if I just fell off. But I don’t want to support an app that prioritizes profit over quality. More than that I’ve no desire to support a company that laid off all it’s contractors for AI.

Was at a thrift store with family earlier in Wisconsin and saw they had records. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a non-religious establishment create a “secular” category for music.

On one hand, I’m glad the CT ban in Washington stands. CT is a plague and it should be banned. In the other, it seems they didn’t take it up because they would have struck down the ban. The dissents from three of the justices lead me to believe that whenever this comes up we won’t like the answer.
