I especially like just being able to get videos in the "About This Game" section

Tying up loose ends

Good to finish off some of these tiny tasks; save me some time when I get to the final push😆

Had to fix up the kill/spare screen for a while now

Game comes off so goofy sometimes the actual tone can get pretty dark🤔

Changed the no damage deflect to be more jarring

Not many enemies can't be damaged by the player , but these guys are unique. Need it to be obvious ASAP that fighting them head on isn't an option

Decided on a final design as well, coming soon🤨

I didnt know gamemaker had a bunch of built in effects

Not sure if I want to go through them all though, kinda like making them myself🤔

I suppose I should at some point to see if I can make use of any of them. Might be a time saver in the end🤷

Changed this guy
Instead of randomly popping up/lowering, all 4 boxes pop up after a minute and stay up

Not hard, just have to avoid him and destroy the boxes

But, between his aggressiveness and how hard he hits, the randomness got annoying🤔

New to shaders so bear with me🤣

Hit me that I should just see if I can combine the various shaders I made into one shader

Now it has almost no overhead and can blend/customize it based on impact now

Loved the effect, glad I can use it😆

I quickly optimized that shader combo, put it back in and here is a few examples of it

Damn... It does look awesome when I layer the shader effects for explosions doesn't it?😒

Using so many shaders at once has completely unacceptable overhead though

Maybe if I can find a more efficient way of doing it...🤔

Actually did manage to make that distortion pulse wave I wanted.

I like the more subtle wobble effect I am using now though🤔

The good news is, I can use it way later in the game. But I can't talk about that so...

Can see here why I need some more work on sprites later. Think they should be fine unless someone smashes their face on the screen😆

Geez, I actually fixed all the errors / warnings

Long story short, I had a ton of issues with drawing the application surface manually🙄

Took a bit of manual manipulation and surface trickery, but seems alright now🤔

Even the shader works👍

Testing out my mass surveillance system for #screenshotsaturday

This mechanic is more relevant later in the game, but I needed a break so it was fun to tackle it early

Got the multiple cameras working

Something I need for late game, just showing it now because it's kinda funny🤔

Used it as an Orion tracker
He's supposed to be following me but disappears a lot

Turns out he actually is, but he walks so slow😆

This is more what I wanted out of this shader for this guy

Not too warpy or disorienting. Just needs to warp enough to emphasis the impact

All in all, it's cool and does not seem to be too resource demanding ATM

I think this should work🤔

Here we go, this was more the shader effect I was going for

Like an explosion concussive effect🤔

I'll have to adjust, test, then see the overall cost of all these effects before I decide if I use them

Pretty cool though, I love shaders😆

If that's not enough of a visual cue to not get hit by it I think the player deserves to get one shot 🤣

Changed the devastating attacks, I wanted a visual cue so players had a sec to react

A few Later bosses are much worse than this guy: faster+less predictable

This should give a moment to react and not get wrecked the first time fighting them😵

This guy can be polished later on. Few changes I want to make, + I need to add in the rest of the animations

75% done I'd say📊

Quick revisit to increased the lighting, was a bit dark before🤔

Also added in an opening and the special is faster

It can also be played with the keys if your using the keyboard

A bad one🤔

Not as bad as the egg joke in chapter 1 though. That one is well hidden, not sure if anyone's going to find it😆

Menus seem to work well
Fixed the notebook the other day, but I did want to update the input menu as well🤔

Keyboard/controller are completely independent from one another

Also want to try more controllers, Xbox, PS, Switch, + any USB controller
