Let's not wait 3 years. It's likely that there is a solar farm being planned near where we live with organized opposition. Usually there are town halls or zoning mtgs. We need to take an minute and advocate for the benefits of solar so that our voices don't get drowned out by fossil fuel $

Not dems. Octogenarian dem leadership that thinks we're living in 1992.

The Biden campaign spent a lot of time defending where we were at, as opposed to where we were headed. I think Harris did a much better job talking about increasing housing supply and the likely damage of trumps tariffs. Unfortunately, it was too little too late, plus racist and misogyny headwinds.

Biden was amazing at getting legislation passed. He used his years of experience as a senator to make deals and get shit passed. The IRA (terrible branding, btw) is the greatest climate bill of my lifetime. His failure to sell his accomplishments is allowing trump to destroy that legacy.

I did hear about those things but I'm a reliable democratic voter and a politics nerd, but the people that swung from Biden in 2020 to Trump in 2024, the people that elected trump, are not like you or me. It's maddening but a viable politician has to be able to reach those folks.

You're making my point for me. A president in the 2020's has to go around the media and defend themselves or they're toast. They have to understand the media environment and how to wield social media. See Mamdani, AOC and even Newsome (who I'm not endorsing)
February 1, 2026 at 1:36 AM
It is a requirement of a modern president to carry the narrative. Trump and Mamdani couldn't be more different but they understand the attention economy. I would talk to people about Honda building a massive battery plant in my home state because of the IRA. They would be totally clueless.

He was not an excellent president because he couldn't communicate his accomplishments or his vision. The normie independent saw high inflation and blamed it on him. That inflation was tamed with a soft landing but he couldn't sell it. He neglected the MSM and couldn't effectively do social media.

They're going to have to figure out how to send data center waste heat to homes because gas is going to be too expensive to use for home heating.

Dolores Umbridge perfectly foreshadows the current administration's attacks on colleges and universities.

Most of us have to work to feed our families, and yes a lot of that work is in front of screens. Even blue collar workers use computers. Speaking of sustenance, how many children have died from USAID getting put in the wood chipper by JD's good buddy who has more babys' mommas than he can count.
