Our experience with robodebt says this is now how our government works

5 yrs, not 7.

Problem here is ATO chose not to chase these debts, and a good number of these will now be more than the 7 yrs people are required to hold documentation. People will not be able to check or challenge debts that are incorrect. ATO has an obligation to be timely here.

You may have questions - I do not want to know the answers.

It’s ok to admit when you’re wrong.

You lot could just not vote for a psychopath as President?
December 2, 2025 at 4:49 AM
No offense to @kels316.bsky.social but most of the students I taught that ended up in the ADF are unlikely to do the research it takes to make good long term decisions in stock markets.

I would’ve thought someone who didn’t vote for you reaching out to you would be a great opportunity to win a new voter 🤔

We’ve seen what it might look like with Doge firings. People will get sacked bc businesses will think they’re not needed, chaos will occur, and they’ll try and rehire, and only partially be successful.

Perhaps The Prisoner’s Dilemma is a better analogy, but all the businesses are sociopaths who don’t trust anyone else.

Tragedy of the modern commons. Any business who doesn’t shed staff by using AI is going to be even less competitive in a failing market.

I did upgrade my phone this year, but I bought an iPhone 13, a 4 yr old model, and expect to be buying an iPhone 17 or similar in about 4-5 years. There’s just no reason to do otherwise.

By comparison with a few other recent PMs, it’s probably a fair call from Mal.
November 27, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Isn’t this what the market is meant to fix? You want people to do a drudge job, reward them appropriately. Capitalists only want supply and demand to work on what they produce, not on their inputs.
November 26, 2025 at 9:18 PM
I think the latter. I’ve read they’re separated and he has a new girlfriend, so wants the ex gone. Sleazebags.

I never understood the appeal of either Emerson or Swan. Both very overrated politicians.

I can see a bivariate scatterplot here, boomers/sqkm on one axis, and roundabouts/km of roads on the other. Noosa being top right and above the regression line.

Just dropping this here…

Medieval peasants would get the equivalent of an office pizza party when their lord required them to do extra work (a boonwork day). They’d get good bread, ale, beef and fish like this 15th century recipe for Barbel Boylled. youtu.be/CFXuZAGEO5c?...

Even people in Proserpine learnt how to use roundabouts. I’m not saying they found it easy, but they got there eventually.

We moved there just as the first two were built. Absolute chaos for the first year or two.
