Absolutely the problem.
It used to be clear that Democrats stood on the side of working people.

Then they started chasing the “center.”

Today’s Democratic establishment leaders have brought the party — and the country — down with them.
The Failures of “Centrism”
By moving to the so-called “center,” Democrats have failed to fight the forces that led us to Donald Trump: widening inequality, economic insecurity, and the unchecked political power of corporations and the rich. Watch.

They are trying to make us insignificant. Don't let them.
Most Americans can’t afford life anymore — and they just don’t matter to the economy like they once did.
Years of elevated prices have strained all but the wealthiest consumers, and low- and middle-income Americans say something needs to change

The top 10% increased their wealth by an additional $1.3 trillion above the normal savings rate since the pandemic, while the bottom 90% only increased their wealth by $291 billion.

Tax breaks and policies benefiting the rich never trickle down.

"all serving members are trained to understand that America stands for more than naked self-interest. Above all, it stands up for the Constitution and the rule of law, including the laws of armed conflict and those that restrict the use of the military against American citizens."

The firing of three judge advocate generals is one more element of this administration’s attack on the rule of law.

When the political leaders fire, for no apparent cause, senior leaders and, as important, the lawyers who embody the protection of the military members under the law... the relationship between the military and the nation has been fundamentally altered.

For quite some time now.
"Unfortunately, rather than be shocked by each time Trump or one of his closest allies utter something openly authoritarian, we need to take a step back and realize that the Republican Party has become an authoritarian political party."

MAGA folks are self-professed Näźis. This administration has seen MANY parallels with the ascension of their leader to power, and with his approach to governance. Know what follows 53 days after his 2025 Inauguration? The deadline on the Debt Ceiling. Auspicious day to trash the economy, eh?

It’s not just that we will be caught off guard, they won’t even be collecting data.
DOGE is reportedly threatening NOAA with massive staff and budget cuts.

NOAA houses the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center, which produce forecasts and warn people about storms.

This attack on public safety is ripped straight from the pages of Project 2025.

USAID has proven to be an easy political target and yet the nature of its work is inherently apolitical.

Malaria and HIV programs, infectious disease surveillance, maternal health initiatives, all proven to save scores of lives.

We may not feel the impact of its closure, but our children will.

Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

Haven't heard anything about this, but with all the DEI cuts, does that mean that research which incorporates female subjects in their studies will now be unfunded? Are we going back to the era of only men in scientific trials? This is the kind of thing that nobody looks into for years, typically. 🤬
