There seem to be a lot of #BlueMAGA voices that are outraged at any perceived maligning of what they believe to be Joe Biden's heroic management of the pandemic he declared "over" in '23 - the one that is, in fact, ongoing.

"He did the best he could."

No. He did what Impact Research told him to.
The first page of a memo from a public relations firm, Impact Research, to President Joe Biden and his staff on February 24, 2022 (about a third of the way through the deadliest few months of the pandemic to date). In summary, the memo states that two years into the pandemic, people are over it and want to get back to normal, and that "nearly every American finally has the tools to protect themselves from this virus." The first two bullet points read "Declare the crisis phase of COVID over and push for feeling and acting more normal", and "Recognize that people are 'worn out' and feeling real harm from the years-long restrictions and [next words underlined] take their side."

Given how bulby the face of that frog is I'd think it could take a whole full-face getup, which would help with eye protection too. As a bonus, full-face respirators with multi-gas cartridges are great to keep around in case of most natural disasters, so they're actually a great investment :)

Brainstem damage found to be behind long-lasting effects of severe Covid-19.

"Using ultra-high-resolution scanners that can see the living brain in fine detail, researchers from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford were able to observe the damaging effects Covid-19 can have on the brain."
Brainstem damage found to be behind long-lasting effects of severe Covid-19
Damage to the brainstem - the brain's 'control center' - is behind long-lasting physical and psychiatric effects of severe Covid-19 infection, a study suggests.

Can’t believe this news broke on the same day that a separate but equally qualified group of experts proved that electricity and trees are in fact also…. Real. What a day for science.
PS these are the same fools who were ripping on Violet Affleck for bringing attention to Long Covid last week.

Also useful to mention that COVID seems to do this as well, especially with repeat infections and long covid. It doesn't do it with the same consistency as measles from what I've read, but if you feel like you get sick way more easily since having covid, get your titers checked!
lilusdi.bsky.social
Reminder that measles infection actually dramatically reduces overall immunity, to the point that it's becoming pretty common for doctors to recommend patients get vaccine titers afterward to make sure they're still immune to vaccine-preventable diseases. Many patients need boosters.

This is a longshot but I'm wondering if anyone in the #covid aware or covid research communities has ever come across this situation: Someone I know has an extreme immunological reaction to exposure to SARS-CoV-2. They know this because they have access to lab tests and they display sky-high […]

Never forget that Dolly Parton gave a million bucks for covid research at the *very start* of the pandemic—including money that helped fund the development of the Moderna vaccine.

Post-acute COVID-19 syndrome (PACS) is a highly multifaceted condition, mimicking myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) in patients with the most prolonged evolution. Due to the frequency of muscle pain and exertion intolerance, these patients are often suspected of having a muscular disease. Here we present the results of the neuromuscular evaluation of patients with a clinically defined PACS. Twenty-two consecutive PACS patients (17F, 5M; median age 47 yrs) were included. All had at least one Covid-infection, confirmed by PCR, with mild respiratory symptoms, only one having required hospitalization and transfer to intensive care unit at acute stage. After a variable period between weeks to few months, patients developed chronic fatigue (duration > 6 months; n=22, 100%), post-exertional malaise (n=22, 100%), cognitive impairment including short-term memory loss or “brain fog” (n=22, 100%), muscle pain (n=18, 82%). No other specific neuromuscular clinical sign were found. 100% of patients fulfilled diagnostic criteria for ME/CSF: CDC1994/Fukuda, International Consensus Criteria 2011, US Inst Medicine 2015, UK National Institute for health and Care Excellence, 2021. Nineteen (86%) didn’t show any recovery period after the onset of symptoms. ENMG examination was normal, without myogenic pattern; CK levels were normal; and muscle MRI available in f…

People under 25 collapsing at concerts isn’t a mystery — it’s COVID and Long COVID. Both can trigger POTS and other post-viral issues, but too many still ignore that reality.

Source: x.com/AgathasSapph...
Screenshot of a tweet by Fin replying to Sam Parker.

Sam’s tweet reads: “not to be so millennial but why is everyone under 25 about to collapse and die of thirst at concerts now.”

Fin responds: “it’s Covid it’s fucking Long Covid which causes POTS and a plethora of other issues. y’all need to stop asking these questions if you’re gonna ignore the answer.”

Thank you so much for the heads-up, I confirmed that in an incognito tab as I wasn't seeing that from my usual view. It looks like it's still free, but does require joining at the "free" level -- I'll check further in CSL3's Patreon to see if there was an announcement I missed. Thank you again!

My best friend just had it done. her words, “I know I probably have Long Covid but just wanna try this first.”

Liz Plank also revealed an upcoming removal.

RFK is hurting you & your community.

You can protect your community by wearing a high-quality mask in public, like an n95.

This reduces illness & esp protects those who are at higher risk, have less access to healthcare, don’t have paid sick days, &c.

Resist RFK’s MAHA bs! Give/get free masks:
