I'm not saying that. I don't think the researchers would do this if they didn't think of the subjects as less than. I just don't think they did it as part of a broader plot to drive trans people away from the hospital. I don't think that much thought went into it. In some ways, makes it worse.

Ah. I thought that was part of the joke.

Honestly I thought it was one of the better songs on the album. It's meant as a joke but I found it funny.

As someone who works at a large hospital, I really doubt this. There are just stupid and self centered researchers and hospitals with poor data controls. I doubt it was a broader conspiracy, or that the researchers were thinking of anyone other than themselves.

It's utterly ridiculous. All I can think is that maybe retail pharmacies lobbied for it?

For some inexplicable reason, NY has made it illegal for Pharmacies to transfer all of your prescriptions at once if you move.

I worked there right before the takeover. It was pretty obvious that they're using it as a dumping ground for patronage jobs for DeSantis cronies who get forced out of state government. That's where the money is going. It's not going to last once he's term limited out.

Having lived through that experience, I have found watching broader higher education make the *exact same* mistake so frustrating. They learned *nothing.* They are still learning nothing. Hiding doesn't work. Making deals doesn't work. You just get kicked more. (3/n)

Of course, what the governor realized was that NCF was weak. It had never really been financially viable in it's entire history. Easy to pick off. So he went for it first.

But it was easier for people to hope that if they were quiet enough the monster wouldn't notice them. (2/n)

I remember being at faculty meetings at New College of Florida right before the right wing takeover. It was obvious what was coming. People would suggest we should do something, speak out against DeSantis, and the response was that we were so small, let that come from UF. (1/n)

We use self hosted mattermost for a group I run. Basically open source slack/discord.

Look at what he did in Samoa. He literally already killed dozens of kids with this shit.

Wondering what "negative" stories the Secretary of Interior order 3431 erases from public view? A #SaveOurSigns volunteer captured these before and after images from #NPS site Muir Woods in California.
An image from NPS site, Muir Woods, from March 2025. Includes a section titled "History Under Construction" that indicates yellow boxes are facts rangers include that tell a more complete history as well as what stories are typically erased from the narrative. An image from NPS site, Muir Woods, from September 2025. The yellow ranger-made additions have been removed, along with questions asking individuals to think critically about information displayed.

If I recall, he literally went to boarding school for a good part of his education.

De Santis is term limited, this is his last stop. It will be interesting to see if the next governor can keep his iron grip on power but I kind of doubt it.

We have a little free library at work (not associated with the main library, I guess it was an abandoned student project). I cleaned it and started stocking it with discards from my own shelves at home because I was out of shelf space. The med students do seem to appreciate my taste!

Chinese universities seem especially obsessed with publication metrics. They also require all residents to publish, which creates a big paper mill market. I'm not sure why this culture is the way it is though.

I grew up in St Louis City and would like to move back there some day. There hasn't been a Republican mayor there since the 70s. It's just poor as hell and was devastated by white flight. I love it though.
