But, whatever it is, it starts today with Jem and this little diary entry.

Anyway, the point is getting back to finding joy and holding onto it. Building, growing, reading, listening, loving, camaraderie-ing, writing, acting... looking at it it's less a to do list and more a to be list, I guess.

Or bury me alive in the cold, wet earth until flowers sprout from my eyes and a fox makes a den in my belly.

Or whatever.

So, I'm going to attempt to find some joy in the daily again. Maybe communicate more. It'll be a challenge because I don't feel like doing much at all. Like, shove me into a sensory deprivation chamber and let my synesthesia take over. Leave me for years.

And while it was nice to get away, it's been hard to sink back into the daily of things I enjoy. I remember my Aunt telling me that she just couldn't read anymore after her wife passed and I didn't understand it then, but I kinda do now.

We took another trip to Indiana where I got to take the kids to some of the places I hung out as a kid visiting family while visiting family (and running another memorial service for my Aunt). Also took an impromptu day trip to Rehoboth Beach with the kids to get the last little bit of Summer in.

We had a week's vacation at the beach with family that was nice, but it came at the heels of my Aunt's passing and a memorial service I ran for her and some jackass totaling my kid's car at a Nelly concert (he's fine; wasn't even in it, thankfully, but we're still dealing with the fallout from it).

Been kinda out of it since early July when my Aunt passed and trying to get back into the daily things I enjoy. Some of it has been because everything is busy and hellish (especially with school starting back up), but that's also not entirely true and mostly a convenient excuse.

Uhm, if you didn't dress up for the LOTR movies, did you even really watch them?

4/ A new tax break for coal companies! So the tax incentives for wind and solar are GONE, and the coal industry is getting NEW tax incentives.

It's official policy now to to not just deny global warming exists - but to actively make it WORSE.

A Perfect Circle – Emotive

The climax: A showdown with the AI ruler of the ruins! We defeated it and then released the vampire god trapped in a glass coffin to wherever the spirits of the ancient dead go when they finally rest, creating a safe passage for our village.
