I'll try! Thanks for your thoughts on this issue, nonetheless!

I would like to be able to reproducibly measure and compare leaf surface temp between different plants. That might either be within the same image/measurement or between different images on a given day, let's say. Do you have any recommendations for that or experience with smartphone IR cameras? Thx
qw3rtzu1op.bsky.social
Thanks for your reply, Barton. My expectation is that we would need to be able to reproducibly resolve temp differences at 1.0 +/- 0.5 K. So, anything that is able to resolve temp differences above 0.1 K would be fine, I guess. The temp range at which we would be working is between 20 and 50 °C.

Does anyone here have any experience with smartphone-compatible infrared cameras to measure leaf surface temperature?

Anyone up for some #ToxTuesday?
A lot of us love spicy foods, and the capsaicin in chili peppers that gives us that heat can be addictive. But is there anything hotter? I'm glad you asked. Yes, yes there is. And it's called RESINIFERATOXIN

Saying ‘I don’t know’ in talks has become a lost art, unfortunately. Super interesting discussions require us to be open about what we don’t know and what still needs to be explored. Here’s my recipe for answering questions in talks:
