Actually making progress on map for linux. I picked up the original codebase and used wmap-parser-rust and wmap-renderer-rust!

It'll take a bit to get feature parity, but a working first version might come in a few days :D

gave up on self-hosting a matrix homeserver, it's worse than hosting jabber

I really haven't enjoyed trying to self-host a matrix homeserver.

The one room I'm interested in uses version 1, which means continuwuity or conduit can't join, and synapse seems to hang randomly, because of federation I reckon.

Here’s one more plugin for #fedwiki before christmas!

wiki-security-oidc allows you to sign in and claim a wiki using Open ID Connect (eg. Pocket ID, Authelia, Keycloak)

There’s a lot wrong with how Apple does business, but tracking transparency isn’t one of those.

The Italian government taking the side of advertisers instead of consumers.

I reached the point I feared: now the only thing left to build is the 68k version of the wmap editor.

wiki-plugin-wmap is now available!

A plugin for federated wiki that allows you to render wardley maps from wmap syntax.

Pretty happy to reach this point for the wmap #fedwiki plugin.

It took a while to understand the plugin format, but I think wiki-plugin-markdown and wiki-plugin-graphviz werevery helpful.

I'll have to go through my code again and simplify, as I included a […]

first attempt at a book binding, with a simple pamphlet binding. Not bad. I used twice as much thread as I needed though.

Very relaxing activity!

"Why should I care about open source?"

It’s about control. When you use closed apps like Chrome or Vivaldi, you are just renting. If they change direction, you have to migrate.

Open source guarantees continuity. Waterfox only exists because Firefox is open. When Mozilla adds AI crap you don't […]

Good progress with the wmap wardley map parser work.

* tree-sitter-wmap syntax works, and can be used in neovim + I rewrote the map editor to use it for highlighting
* wmap-parser-swift is reasonably fast( ~14µs on my test map), and now used by map
* wmap-parser-js is similarly fast (~16 µs) […]

Depending on companies with an increasing amount of money and decreasing amount of humanity is a big risk. We’ve been lured by convenience and put in a very vulnerable position.

I admire self-hosted services like Immich and such, because they offer an […]

there's an intermittent beep in the house that I can't locate, and it's going to drive me over the edge

- it's very soft so it's hard to pinpoint location
- it's very irregular so I can't hot-or-cold it
- it doesn't sound like any beep I've heard in the house before

It could also be something […]

I'm actually enjoying using macos in increased contrast mode. I haven't tried all the apps, but so far everything looks nicer.

I do use my screen with "More Space", so maybe it's just my eyesight is not ready for that resolution + glass

I like small windows, so I made a compact style sheet for @kagihq

I'm finding it fun to do the advent of code puzzles in gleam because recursive functions and conditions feel satisfying.

It's pretty evident though that my brain isn't used to solving problems this way because I tend to work with different types of programs.
