Looks like @niemanlab.org are publishing their 2026 predictions. My immediate favourite is by @dmitryshishkin.bsky.social: www.niemanlab.org/2025/12/no-m...

contemplating doing a seminar or something on "semantic REST", which is a reasonable way to characterize how i've been designing senseatlas.net (or more accurately intertwingler.net)

if i were to put one together, is that something people would be interested in?

Can anyone recommend any Chief Product Officer or similar, that has worked in the healthcare or education space and have experience growing a product from scratch? We’re looking for someone special to join our board that cares deeply about users - any recommendations or ideas appreciated ❤️

This is fascinating, and also similar to the work @jacquilough.bsky.social, myself and others were looking at whilst at the BBC - before we took it to news, we developed models that accounted for sources, perspectives, provenance with comparisons of evidence for points of view.
This week's post on my substack: On a fascinating idea to try to ground LLMs in — if not truth, at least in sourcing — and what that could mean for journalism and public interesting information. Plus, structured journalism.

This close to having a status update account set up - but my other account has a load of followers I can't currently see. Halp! How do I see them and prune what are probably spam accounts?

Ons of the most frustrating things about working around technology, is seeing all the brilliant slightly home brew things that people with more knowledge of, and access to, the lower levels of the Web/Internet stack, can make, trying to fiddle around/replicate that, and failing completely.

Yes, but also, *clearly* the simplest explanation is that James Bond is a Timelord from the planet Gallifrey.
No. The correct way to understand this is to stop trying to make things fit together. You can watch different people playing Sherlock Holmes, in entirely different stories, without trying to make it add up. Stories are a dressing up box, not a jigsaw.

"It feels more and more like the expectation that social media users have is for other social media users is not sharing their thinking out loud or thinking in progress, but declaring positions with which one argues or agrees."
I've been thinking about social media a lot lately and how so much of the interaction I feel like I'm witnessing is oriented around users correcting one another.
