If it's a book/music I don't know I'm more likely to say, "I'm not familiar with that” rather than the slightly boastful "never heard of it!" as if that immediately renders the art irrelevant.

Love the comment about Tom being “... the laureate of the rural landscape, its mysteries and its folkloric magic...” It’s also very funny so far. Very happy it got published, would’ve been a literary crime (by Voldemort’s publisher) if it had ended up getting lost in the pre-release malarkey.

Started reading this the other day & am so enjoying it - what a triumphant evolution in Tom’s writing. Loving Carl so much & can’t wait to get further into the stories. I'll try to write a proper review when I've finished. May well return to page 1 & start again if the rest is as good as this.

That’s a really positive and appreciative review isn’t it. I’ve yet to begin reading EWSY (I’m incapable of reading more than one book at a time) but now I’m looking forward to experiencing it myself.

What a frightening and traumatic time that must’ve been. I can only imagine how difficult it was to lose so much and have to deal with people who refused to understand that you couldn’t help it. Keep swearing - you’re appreciated here and your art is loved. x

When I sold my flat in the W. London suburbs, the agent made me move my cat from even though she was afraid and was hiding under a chair so you couldn’t even see her, poor girl. She was very discombobulated. It counts in a home’s favour, as far as I’m concerned, if you can see a pet in the photo.
